Ongoing passion for the environment
Sustainability
Alongside our sister property, Bells at Killcare, we are a team passionate about sustainability and working on an ongoing sustainability strategy.
Since opening in 2015, our focus has been on delivering an exclusive and memorable stay within a pristine natural bushland setting. Our natural unique environment & surrounds are a key element to our guests having an incredible stay. We know how lucky we are to be perched in the middle of a declared National Park which itself is surrounded by water and a precious marine eco system.
Within our National Park are Indigenous carvings and drawings dating back 2,000 years. An extraordinary piece of Australian culture and history.
To us, Sustainability is many things, requiring commitment, research and focus. That’s why we’ve committed to a Sustainability plan with the help of experts in the field to offset our carbon emissions. We’re really proud of what we’ve achieved and implemented to date, but we’re committed to ongoing long-term change to help the greater good of our community, our environment and our world.
OUR CERTIFICATION
We work closely with a wide range of local producers and manufacturers who supply us with local goods and services. PURE LINEN, an Australian based Linen company, supplies us with premium bedroom and dining room luxury items. Linen is woven from the fibres of the flax plant and a completely natural resource, perhaps the most ecologically sound fabric of all. This is just one example.
We are currently working with the peak body for Ecotourism and sustainable tourism, Ecotourism Australia, on becoming an EcoCertified business. This is an ongoing program and we are always looking at ways to improve in this area.
As a responsible business committed to social and environmental sustainability, we donate to WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service), Yalari (Educating Indigenous Children) and WorldVision (Global Children’s Charity) on a regular basis. We also work cohesively with community groups such as our local Pretty Beach Primary School, the Bouddi Society and the Bouddi Gallery to support those directly around us.
